WHO WE ARE
The Home Improvement Service or 'THIS' is small but top-quality building firm.
We serve the Folkestone and Hythe district and surrounding areas in East Kent. We specialise in refurbishing and improving local domestic property but have also re-developed shops and older commercial properties in Folkestone and Hythe.
There are two of us, Pav and Tim, who, as joint partners, run the building operations and carry out most of the work ourselves. That's how we deliver reliability and quality and why we don't hide from solving problems when they arise.
OUR SERVICES
We offer a full range of building services and strive to deliver a personal and friendly approach.
In the fields of electrical installation, central heating and bespoke carpentry, we work alongside particular specialists who we trust and use regularly.
Building Design & Engineering
Although we do not offer an in-house design service, we do work with preferred architects and structural engineers so that we can take your project from an idea all the way to completion. We normally take care of the planning and building control side of things ourselves and through our partners.

- Extensions and conversions: flats, lofts, garages, kitchens, bathrooms etc
- Property refurbishment: plastering, carpentry, windows, flooring etc
- Building re-modelling: layout changes, wall knock through's
- Bathroom and kitchen upgrades
- Shop fit-out and re-modelling
- Small repairs and minor jobs: fitting in small jobs between bigger ones can work well for us!
- External repairs and maintenance: flat roofs, guttering, facias, cladding, cement & coloured rendering
- Insulation and damp proof works
- Landscaping and garden buildings:
sheds, steps, decking, fencing and outside offices
